How long does it take for my domain name to work?
Domains work through a network of name servers. Each domain typically has a pair of name servers that "know" about them. The name servers need time "talking" to each other to find out about each of their domains. This process can take anywhere between 24 and 72 hours.
If your domain doesn't function after 72 hours, you should double-check with your registrar that your name servers were entered correctly.

Determining your domain's IP address
This is a very simple process that can be accomplished in a matter of minutes. Simply follow the steps below to determine your domain's IP address:
Step 1: Visit www.dnsstuff.com. This website has many useful tools.
Step 2: Locate Ping Tool. The Ping Tool is located on the right side of the web page (the third blue box down).
Step 3: Enter your domain name in textbox. In the Ping Tool box, click on the textbox within and enter your domain name here and click Ping.
Step 4:The result of the Ping should look something like:
Ping #1: Got reply from 10.10.10.10 in 62ms [TTL=47]
where the value similar to 10.10.10.10 is your IP address!
